Team 5992 qualified and competed in the 2024 FIRST Mid-Atlantic District Championship at Stabler Arena at Lehigh University for the first time in 5 years. Although we did not get the result we wanted in the end, it was an amazing experience as a team, competing with and against 60 other highly competitive teams.
We are extremely proud of the whole team and their efforts throughout this 12-week season. Another thank you to the drive team, scouting team, mentors, parents, supporters, and sponsors for all your hard work and support.

Team 5992 competed in the Warren Hills Event in Washington Township, NJ this past weekend. The team had 8 wins and 4 losses in our 12 qualification matches and ranked 10th place, seeming like a replay of our last competition. However, during alliance selection our team became the 6th alliance captain. We chose to work with Team 7045 and Team 75. Our team upset Alliance 3, but lost to Alliance 2. Because our robot had to undergo emergency repairs in the aftermath of our second playoff match, we had to make a split second decision to switch out our robot for the substitute, team 6945. While our team scrambled to get a functional robot that passed the safety requirements to continue, our alliance won against alliance 8. At the end of their match our repairs were done and we were able to switch back into the lineup, beating Alliance 5. Unfortunately, we lost to alliance 2 for the second time, securing our alliance 3rd place in the tournament. As an added bonus, our team claimed the highest score of the competition with 87 points in one match. All in all, our positive performances in both events helped our team to qualify for the district championship in Lehigh, for the first time in 5 years. Thank you to the drive team, scouting team, mentors, fans, and fellow alliance members for all your hard work and support. We will see everyone at Lehigh!!!

Team 5992 was back at it again after a fun off-season! We held our annual kick-off event and had so much fun seeing the new competition for the FIRST 2024 Competition Season: Crescendo. After beginning to strategize, learn the manual, and plan for the upcoming season, we are on a high note. We cannot wait for the competitions to begin!

Team 5992 made an alliance with Mount St. Dominic Academy's Project Outreach to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless. It was a great turnout with over 30 members of the robotics team attending. As a whole, we made 144 sandwiches which we distributed at Newark's Penn Station. Our team cannot wait for more events and alliances with Project Outreach. Check out our Instagram for more pictures on the event!
